I think I'm looking forward to feeling what I felt in Jerusalem and what we felt in Washington DC. If you were in Washington DC or Jerusalem, you know what I'm talking about. Restoring Love will be a reminder that we best serve our God when we serve each other. It is a reminder that capitalism is not about who can make the most money and that charity is not just about giving handouts, but must include a hand-up.
Unfortunately, if history is any guide, it's a battle we're going to lose unless there is a radical, and likely very painful, change in course. The truth is that for seventy-two out of the last one hundred years, our government has spent more than it has taken in.
Governments in the United States do two basic things: They produce stuff (like postal services and national defense) and they transfer money between parties (farm subsidies, ethanol subsidies, etc.). The transferring of funds can also be called "democratic theft" since it's a legalized way of taking money from one person or group and giving it to another politically selected person or group.
Private Property is essential to personal freedom and liberty because it enables an individual to gain independence from the State by accumulating land, money, and wealth. In the Declaration of Independence, the Founding Fathers wanted to assert that Americans were protected in their "life, liberty and property" but were instead persuaded to write "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
Do not remain neutral. Do not sit idly by. Do not let others speak for you. Silence has gotten us nowhere so it's once again time for our collective voice to make a simple yet powerful demand... Don't tread on me. --Glenn Beck
On July 4th, 1776, Thomas Jefferson wrote some of the greatest most powerful words in all of history: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. These words are powerful because they are true, and they are self-evident. We don’t need to look it up on some fact checking website. Somehow, we just know it’s right - and that is why the founders and the revolutionaries spent the better part of a decade fighting to bring those words to life.
We often say the “mainstream media” is the problem – but the truth is the “mainstream” is made up of what we put into it. It’s time for conservatives to recognize that popular culture matters and we have to start working our way back into the mainstream in order to influence it. --Glenn Beck
"I‘m pretty sure that’s why Dana wears leather pants,” Beck said jokingly, implying that Loesch’s decision to dress more provocatively and with a more “cool” edge made her more likely to get attention. Beck also mentioned that this was the same reason he would wear jeans on his show, and might wear a bowtie off-camera, but never while on TV.
“That’s what everybody expects,” Beck said, implying that the stereotype of the bowtie-wearing conservative works to stop people from listening to conservative messaging.
Who needs Fox News? Beck is his own network now. GBTV, his internet-only video channel, already has more than 300,000 subscribers, making it the biggest component of his fast-growing multimedia empire, Mercury Radio Arts. The conservative host and "rodeo clown" -- his words -- also has his own book imprint with Simon & Schuster, a news website called The Blaze, a live political comedy act and, of course, "The Glenn Beck Program," syndicated by Premiere Radio.
