This Supreme Court ruling enforces that academics are the top priority of universities, not athletics. If a student-athlete does not make their grades, they are not allowed to take part in athletic activities within their respective university. This affects recruiting within schools who take pride in their academic achievements in that some college-bound athletes will not be able to achieve their grades at said universities, thus influencing their college decision.
